Shipping Policy
At The Guppy Father, we offer free shipping on all live fish orders within the continental United States. Shipping costs are already built into the price of our fish, so you’ll never see surprise fees at checkout.

Seasonal heat or cold packs as needed for safe travel

Priority shipping via USPS, FEDEX or UPS (1–3 day delivery on average)

Where We Ship:
We currently ship to all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii. We do not ship internationally at this time.
Shipping Schedule:
Orders ship Mondays to avoid weekend delays. You will receive tracking information once your order is on the way.
Weather Holds & Shipping Ethics
The Guppy Father reserves the right to delay shipments during extreme weather to protect the health and safety of our fish. While we’re excited to get our quality fish into your hands, the ethical treatment of our fish always comes first.
We typically do not ship if temperatures are expected to be:

Above 95°F
If shipping conditions are unsafe, your order will be held and shipped as soon as it’s safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and understanding—it’s part of what makes responsible fishkeeping possible.
Live Arrival Guarantee (DOA Policy)
We guarantee your fish will arrive alive and healthy. In the rare event of a Dead on Arrival (DOA) issue, we will refund the cost of the fish (excluding packaging materials).
DOA Terms:
- You must be present to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.
- DOA claims must be submitted within 8 hours of delivery and include:
- A clear photo of the unopened bag with a visible timestamp or screenshot of the delivery time and date.
How to File a DOA Claim:

Include your order number, photos, and any relevant details

Once verified, we’ll refund the cost of the fish to your original payment method
Note: We do not offer replacements—only refunds for DOA fish. Please place another order for replacements.
